My Best Friend
I’ve known you so long, so well,
How do you see me?
Every secret of yours is mine,
I haven’t told you one, it belongs only to me.
Perhaps you’ve guessed. Do you realize
that it is not how I see you but that
you are the only one I see?
Everyday, summer or winter, we spend together,
laughing, screaming, playing, but every time
I touch you, a thrill runs through me.
Do you notice the way I smile,
when you walk through the door?
This is my secret, for you
probably think of me like a sibling,
how do you see me?
I don’t want to destroy what we have,
I’ve known you so long, so well.

Just a note: This is not actually about my best friend. So all those who know me don't be afraid! I wrote this for English class and I was not writing it from a personal point of view. I was experimenting with free verse and splitting sentances so I hope you like it.
